Geocaching Around Topsail - Every Wednesday and Saturday - 9am - 2pm -- Explore Topsail Hill Preserve State Park with our special 10 station geocache program. Check in at the camp store for your coordinates. Upon completion return to the camp store for your prize.
Breakfast With a Ranger - Second Saturday of the Month- 9am -- Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Clubhouse and ask the Ranger any questions you may have about the park. Suggested donation $5/ adult and $3/ per child. All funds received support programs, events and improvements in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.
Family Challenge - Every Saturday - 9am - 2pm -- A fun challenge for you and your family to complete together. Different choices each month whether it is geocaching, photo scavenger hunt, a beach scavenger hunt, an art challenge or..... Check in at the camp store between 9am and 2pm for your family challenge packet. Upon completion, return the packet to the camp store for your treat.
Dirty Friday - First Friday of the month - 8-10am -- Help with beautification projects in the park. Check in at the Ranger Station for location. Wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Bring water bottle, hat, sunscreen and work gloves.
Reading with a Ranger - First Thursday of the month 10am -- This program is at the Walton County Coastal Branch Library (437 Greenway Trail) A fun story time for children to learn about nature with a Park Ranger.
Art in the Park - June through October - 9am - 2pm at the Clubhouse
Art in the Park is back at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park starting on June 9, 2017 9:00a.m. – 2:00p.m with a Watercolor class. Join local artist Carol Dickson for an opportunity to create your own beautiful work of art. Class fees for the June 9th class are $25 and include all materials needed. Regular park admission applies and is paid at ranger station on the day of class. All classes need a minimum of 5 participants to occur. Classes are limited to 10 participants and participants must be at least 12 years of age. Registration is due 7 days before class date and can be done in the park store or online at www.topsailparkfriends.org. The park store is open seven days a week 8am – 5pm.
Future dates for Art in the Park include Basket Weaving on July 7, 2017 and September 8, 2017 for $35 each. Watercolor classes will be on June 9, August 4 and October 13, 2017 for $25. A different theme and technique are used each class.
Tunes in Topsail - September 8, 2017
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park along with the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park presents “Tunes in Topsail” on "September 8 from 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. Enjoy the melodic tones of Luke Warm and the Backsliders as they perform songs from South Walton at the park’s beautiful outdoor amphitheater. The concert is free with regular park admission. However, donations to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park are always welcome and help us continue providing events such as this one as well as support the park. Event is weather dependent, so watch the website for postponement if weather conditions deteriorate.
Sunset Paddle – September 30 – 5:00 pm – 7:30pm
Experience Campbell Lake at sunset on a Ranger guided paddling tour. Participants must be experienced canoers/kayakers over 12 years of age. The paddle tour is space and weather dependent. Fee for the paddle is $40 per person and includes: watercraft rental, park admission fee, tram ride to Campbell Lake, juice/water and a donation to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Advanced online registration required. Registration is due 5 days before the paddle date and can be done online at www.topsailparkfriends.org on the “Store” page.
