Topsail Hill Preserve State Park offers a number of ongoing activities and programs, as well as one-time special events, to help campers and visitors explore the Park and learn more about our environment. All programs and events are open to the public and free with regular Park admission unless otherwise noted. Ongoing activities and programs include:
Weekly Ranger Programs (Thursdays) - To find out more details about the current week's topic and meeting location call the Park Ranger Station at 850-267-8330.
Geocaching Around Topsail (Every Wednesday and Saturday, 9am - 2pm) - Explore Topsail Hill Preserve State Park with our special 10 station geocache program. Check in at the Park Store for your coordinates. Upon completion return to the Park Store for your prize.
Family Challenge (Every Saturday, 9am - 2pm) - A fun challenge for you and your family to complete together. Different choices each month whether it is geocaching, photo scavenger hunt, a beach scavenger hunt, an art challenge or..... Check in at the Park Store between 9 am and 2 pm for your family challenge packet. Upon completion, return the packet to the Park Store for your treat.
Dirty Friday (1st Friday of the month, 8am - 10am) - Help with beautification projects in the Park. Check in at the Ranger Station for location. Wear weather appropriate clothing and closed toed shoes. Bring water bottle, hat, sunscreen and work gloves.
Reading with a Ranger (1st Thursday of the month, 9 am) - A fun story time for children to learn about nature with a Park Ranger. Note: This program is held at the Walton County Coastal Branch Library, 437 Greenway Trail in Santa Rosa Beach.
Breakfast With a Ranger (2nd Saturday of the month, 9am) - Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Clubhouse and ask the Ranger any questions you may have about the Park. Suggested donation $5/ adult and $3/ per child. All funds received support programs, events and improvements in Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.
Experience Campbell Lake at sunset and moonrise on a Ranger guided paddling tour. Participants must be experienced canoers/kayakers over 12 years of age. The paddle tour is space and weather dependent. Fee for the paddle is $40 per person and includes: watercraft rental, park admission fee, tram ride to Campbell Lake, juice/water and a donation to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Advanced online registration required. Registration is due 3 days before the paddle date and can be done online on this website by going to the "Store” page on the main menu bar.
Art in the Park
Join Carol Dickson for an opportunity to create a work of art. Each month a different technique will be used. Class fees include all materials needed. Regular park admission applies and is paid at the Ranger Station on the day of the class. Register online on this website by going to the "Store” page on the main menu bar.
Tai Chi - Tai Chi is a group, recreational exercise program that helps you relax and de-stress while focusing on grace, balance and breathing through slow, calm and deliberate movements. Weather permitting; the group will be outside around the pond near the clubhouse or in the amphitheater. Otherwise, it will be inside the clubhouse.
